About Us
OUR VISION
The Mid Atlantic foundation for Asian Artists, Inc. (MAFFAA, Inc.), was founded to enrich the lives of present and future generations of Asian Immigrants, Asian Americans born in the United States, and non-Asian artists through the acquisition, presentation , and preservation of works of art and culture in the United States. OUR MISSION The mission of MAFFAA, Inc. is to promote international understanding and friendship through cultural exchange by utilizing performance, exhibition and public education. MAFFAA, Inc. is dedicated to cultivating innovative models for artists to engage with different communities and provide support in shaping their cultural identity for social changes in order to build a better world. OUR GOAL We’re launching our inaugural season in 2016. And we, in MAFFAA Inc are working hard to launch an initiative that will showcase our commitment to raise a greater awareness in the promotion of Asian American’s contribution in the classical arts in mainstream American opera. |
A HISTORIC INAUGURATION
After a series of initial collaboration in the past with Asian artists and staging a successful sold-out showing in the prestigious Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater, MAFFAA had an epiphany that opened its eyes in setting their sights to a paradigm shift. And in so doing, we’ve reached out to the original producers of KGB Productions, who actually envisioned a successful World Premiere showing of Noli Me Tangere in Chicago, IL that was raved by opera critics and opera enthusiasts alike. Finding a kindred spirit who are like-minded but shows an entirely different approach in producing quality musical programming, MAFFAA made the initiative to join forces to become the vital resource that will encourage KGB Productions to continue the historic work they’ve begun to reach out to mainstream America. |
